Styles of Photography: Architectural

The style of architectural photography is the photographing of building and similar structures that are both aesthetically pleasing and an accurate representations of their subjects.
The above photo is an early architectural style photography taken by photographer and inventor William Henry  Fox Talbot in 1845

A lot of architectural photography uses controlled perspective, and strongly highlights vertical parallel lines. This can be achieved by the position of the camera itself, tilt lenses or can be done in post-processing.

Many SLR cameras are used nowadays as different lenses give the photographer a range of focal lengths, zoom capabilities, aperture and shutter speed*.

A very common shot in architectural photography is of the side of a building, or inside - depending on the architecture itself, and often looks at a building from side on or upwards (worm's eye).
